DOT DOOM
cat chases dot, you are dot, try not to get caught
Rudolph, Diana Zahara, D'Amore-McKim School Business

In DOT DOOM, you are a red laser dot. You need to run faster than a very determined and crazy cat. Moving your mouse, not getting caught, and staying alive for 30 seconds are the only rules. The cat isn't on your side. The cat uses smooth interpolation to follow the dot, which means it always knows where you are and is getting closer. It doesn't hurt too much at first. The cat is slow, a little dumb, and even kind of cute. But every time it catches the dot, it goes a little faster. At first, it's a fun game of keep-away, but it quickly turns into a frantic race across a cozy living room with a purple couch, a wooden floor, and a sunny window.Getting caught isn't just a setback; it's a big deal. The screen shakes, bits fly out, and the cat screams. Its eyes are wide open, its mouth is open, red lines are flying out in all directions, and a loud "HISSSS!!" floats above its head. Then it resets, this time a bit faster, and the chase begins again. The cat is completely drawn in p5.js. It has a gray oval body, a tail that wags, pointy ears, pupils that are slits, and tiny pink whiskers. It always looks like it's really locked onto you because it turns to face the way it's going. It shows how you feel, it's silly, and it means business. The point of DOT DOOM is to be silly. It takes one of the most common things cats do, chasing laser dots, and turns it into a tense little game of survival that anyone can pick up and understand right away. No need for directions. Put the dot in a different place.
