Mood Screen
A screensaver based on your mood

Mood Screen is a tool to create personalized screensavers based on the user's mood. With Mood Screen the user is able to describe how they feel, or the atmosphere they want, and the code generates a screensaver. The motivation behind this project comes from the idea that even something as passive as a screensaver can reflect emotional states. Screensavers are typically generic and repetitive, but this project tries to make them something more personal and expressive. Personally, I always use the default screensavers that my device comes with simply because I don't like the other ones any better to change it. Most devices come with different screnensaver options to reach everyone's likes, and most of the time, people choose the one they resonate with the most. In addition to this we usually dont change the screensaver we picked at that moment twice since the process of doing is is not convenient for the user. However, what if we could choose and be constantly changing our screensaver to a visual that not only aligns with the users taste but also understands them on a more emotional level. If I had the opportunity to have a screensaver that resonates with the way I feel, I would constantly be changing it. The project is basically a system that connects predefined emotional categories to a screensaver that reflects them. The examples are: “happy”, “sad”, “calm”, “focused”, and “crazy”. Each category displays a different screensaver with different colors, velocities, and animations that match each type of feeling. For example, if the user chooses the “happy” screensaver, the output uses bright colors, fast-moving objects, etc., including color palettes, motion patterns, and animation styles. However, a “calm” mood should present a visual of soft gradient colors and slow motion.
